Former trustee Allan Shortt recognized

The Yk1 board and staff honoured longtime trustee and former chair Allan Shortt with a plaque and Ipad for his service as trustee since 2008.

Of the nine candidates in the Oct. 15 election, Shortt was the only incumbent not to return to the board. Ozgur Oner was the other unsuccessful candidate. Of the seven trustees elected to the board, six were incumbents, with Al McDonald, a former vice principal with Sir John Franklin High School, the sole newcomer.

Allan Shortt, was unsuccessful in his bid for re-election as an incumbent candidate in the Oct. 15 YK1 Education District election.
