Sixty-seven grams of marijuana was also seized by police, an amount that's over the legal limit for possession.

"Three males" and "three females," all from Fort Liard, were "implicated in the seizures and charges are pending under the Territorial Liquor Act," states the news release.

"Fort Liard is a restricted community and the quantity of liquor that a person may possess or bring over the border from B.C. is strictly limited by the Northwest Territories Liquor Act. "Fort Liard would like to remind the public that the actions of a few does not reflect the community as a whole. The police take these matters seriously. People who are willing to take the risk and violate the Liquor Restrictions should expect to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The restrictions are in place to protect the residents of the community," added York-Condon.

Mounties say the road blitz also led to impairment charges for a woman, who is not named in the news release.
