A new diagnosis of Covid-19 has been identified in Yellowknife, .

An NWT resident has been diagnosed with the infection which they contracted while traveling abroad, according to a statement from The Office of the Chief Public Health Officer (OCPHO),
"Assessment by the OCPHO is that the individual acquired the infection outside the Northwest Territories and was not communicable during air travel," states the release. "Existing federal and NWT processes were followed, including COVID-19 testing at the time of arrival in Canada."
There is no risk to the public after an investigation and contact tracing were completed, according to Chief public health officer, Dr. Kami Kandola.
"Three contacts have been identified and the individual and contacts are self-isolating and doing well," states the release. "Public health will continue to monitor and support the case and contacts.
"The infection will be reported in the territorySA国际影视传媒檚 COVID-19 statistics when the dashboard is updated on April 6."
The Public Health Agency of Canada requires that attribution of COVID-19 infections to a province or territory depend on individualSA国际影视传媒檚 place-of-residence.
