Whati have arrested and charged an Alberta youth after discovering drugs, cash, and a handgun during an investigation.
Police were called to a house in the community on Tuesday at around 5:30 p.m. after being told of drug trafficking at a home with children.
"While officers were investigating, a male suspect provided a false name to police and was subsequently arrested for obstructing an officer," stated a release from police on Wednesday.
Further searches led police to seize approximately 100 grams of suspected crack cocaine, $6,000 in cash, a pistol and ammunition.
The accused, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces multiple charges, including drug trafficking, weapons offences, and possession of crime-related property over $5,000.
The youth appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody to appear in court on Friday, according to . The police also thank the community for their assistance in this investigation.
