Yellowknife is known for its nighttime display of the spellbinding aurora, but students of N.J. Macpherson School recently decided to go above and beyond that phenomenon for their annual winter concert SA国际影视传媒楽paced Out: A Musical OdysseySA国际影视传媒.
Sarah Power, the music and art teacher at the school, said it was a SA国际影视传媒渕agicalSA国际影视传媒 night as the stage was transformed into a galaxy of wonder, including the planets of the solar system and themed skits, songs, poems and dance - including a SA国际影视传媒楽tar Wars TechnoSA国际影视传媒 skit performed by school principal, Randy Caines.
SA国际影视传媒淲e also had this year a fiddle club - there were 14 fiddlers there, fiddling to Tlicho Elder Rosa Wah-Shee reading her poem, Ode to the Northern Lights,SA国际影视传媒 Power said.
The evening began with the choir singing an Earth song, Earthlings Unite, to symbolize nature, and then the space odyssey began with the journey into outer space, eventually ending with the return to Earth, Power said.
Many hands
The event was made even more special because of the work done by parents, students and staff, she added.

The audience was very impressed with the performance, Power said.
SA国际影视传媒淭hey thought it was very magical and very majestic. And, you know, I think a lot of the parents and even the students said, SA国际影视传媒楬ey, it feels like we travelled through the universe of imagination,SA国际影视传媒橲A国际影视传媒 she said, adding that it was important they include Pluto in the stellar display, although it is no longer considered the ninth planet of the solar system.
