Body found on Byrne Road in Yellowknife Wednesday morning

are reporting that a body was found on Byrne Road Wednesday morning.

"Shortly before 7:00 a.m., Yellowknife received a report of a sudden death on Byrne Road in which a deceased person was found outside," said spokesperson Const. Josh Seaward in an email to SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½. "Officers attended along with emergency medical services."

There was no immediate cause of death noted and Seaward said the investigation is ongoing in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner. The coroner's office is responsible for investigating all sudden and unexpected deaths.

Seaward added that the death is not considered suspicious in nature based on further investigation by the 's Major Crimes Unit and that the coroner's office has ordered an autopsy.

The overnight temperature was between -18 and -21 C, according to the forecast from Environment Canada, but the wind chill made it feel anywhere between -29 and -35 C.
