Break and enter spree has Iqaluit police seeking public's assistance

36 confirmed attempted B&Es over the past month

Iqaluit have responded to a significant number of break and enters to non-residential buildings within the last month.

So far, there have been 36 confirmed attempts. Some locations have been targetted multiple times over a four-week period.

Iqaluit say they will be increasing their overnight presence in the community in response, with proactive patrols checking on buildings and areas that are frequent targets.

The public is being asked to report any information that may assist in identifying the persons responsible, including the identity of the individuals in the photographs from security cameras.

The police also ask the public to remain diligent in securing their property by ensuring any security cameras are operational, and by reporting any suspicious activity or persons in possession of unexplained large amounts of cash or property.

While these break and enters appear to be financially motivated, the reminds the public to never physically confront a person in the midst of a break and enter and to instead call the SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s emergency line immediately.
