The 54th Dene National Assembly has been moved to Dettah's Chief Drygeese Centre.

The assembly was originally set to occur in Fort Good Hope from July 23-25. However, the wildfires burning around that community forced the Dene Nation to change the location to Dettah. The dates have not changed, according to a Dene Nation news release issued on July 2.

The election for Dene national chief will also occur in Dettah, on July 24. There are six candidates vying for the position. Incumbent Chief Gerald Antoine will be running against Paulie Chinna, Gerry Cheezie, Norman YakeSA国际影视传媒檈ula, George Mackenzie and April Martel. Voting can be done in-person in Dettah, or online.
