Fuel Flo Petroleum is now officially carrying Bluewave Energy's products. The Yellowknife-based business started doing so on Tuesday.
Travis Arychuk, group CEO of Avier Group, Fuel Flo's parent company, said the company's trucks will now be driving under the Bluewave banner.
"It's pretty exciting for us, we're really excited to serve the community here in Yellowknife," said Arychuk, explaining that Fuel Flo now will run Bluewave's fuel and facilities, as well as delivering product around the city.
The fuel is delivered from refineries in Alberta, which comes up via a combination of trains and trucks, Arychuk added, noting there are will be no changes to the cost of fuel.
"We've been looking at expanding to bulk fuels for some time," said Arychuk. "When the opportunity came to us, we started discussions. The past agency was up and we were offered it."
Fuel Flo has a staff size of about 15 employees, Arychuk added, ranging from delivery drivers, yard personnel, and office workers in Yellowknife.
"Our fuel delivery operation will continue as it has been for many years, the only change is our local partner will now be Fuel Flo going forward," Bluewave said in a press release. "Fuel customers will not have to do anything to continue getting serviced by Bluewave."
The storage facility will remain at the location on Curry Drive in Kam Lake.
