What is your plan to boost employment opportunities for Indigenous people in the NWT?
Before employment opportunities are even considered the focus must be on community & mental services. Ensuring people have a connection to their culture and land is crucial. Addiction treatment must be provided for all people in the NWT.
I would help communities facilitate cultural and traditional programs such as Elder partnering for those looking for guidance in their lives. On-line courses for people living on remote communities. Land-based learning and training on their own territories.
Employment from promoting tourism of their territories as well as cultural tours. It is important to realize Indigenous people were colonized and lived one with the land. To return to this is the mission.
Between the Mackenzie Valley Highway and the Great Slave Geological Corridor, which infrastructure project is more important and why?
No answer provided.
Would you commit to the federal government pushing the GNWT to eliminate the Business Incentive Policy (BIP) to reduce trade with other jurisdictions in Canada? Why/Why not?
No. BIP is good for the people of the NWT. BIP is not a trade barrier. Ensuring small businesses are supported must be a priority within the federal government.
