An incident Friday morning in Hay River has led to the total loss of a home in the town, according to Hay River .
A release Friday afternoon stated that police were called to a home located in the Rowe's Trailer Court just after 7 a.m. after being told of a disturbance at the residence. While en route to the location, officers were told that a fire had started.
Police stated that the initial investigation determined the fire began as a result of a fight between people inside. One person was taken from the residence with minor injuries and the house in question was destroyed.
Hay River are still investigating what happened with help from the Office of the Fire Marshal and the G Division Forensic Identification Service.
