Here's what Yellowknife is doing for New Year's

Yellowknife residents can celebrate the new year with the city's annual firework show. It's happening Dec. 31 starting at 8:00 p.m. according to the city. The fireworks are being set off on Frame Lake.

Other than being fast asleep on a Tuesday night, there are some other options for celebrating New Year's.

Yellowknife residents can celebrate the start of 2025 with the city's annual fireworks show. It's happening Dec. 31 starting at 8:00 p.m. according to the city. The fireworks are being set off on Frame Lake.

The city has highlighted a number of locations to watch the display, including Samba KSA国际影视传媒檈 Civic Plaza.

Temperatures on Dec. 31 are expected to hover around -20掳C.

There's also a New Year's party and fundraiser for the NWT SPCA. It's happening at the Northern United Place. There's no entry fee, but you'll need to register first. You can do that . 

Donations at the fundraiser are voluntary and go towards the SPCA.
