From Charles Criss,
Eagle River, Alaska

I reside in Alaska and visited the Northwest Territories in late May.

After losing air pressure in a tire on my Jeep, I stopped at Kal Tire in Hay River and spoke with Eddie Lepine. He had no appointment available until the following morning at 11 a.m. but offered to put air in the tire that could permit me to continue driving.

I then visited both Fort Resolution and Fort Smith and returned to Kal Tire the next day.

Mr. Lepine said the 11 a.m. opening had been filled and again offered to add air to the tire to permit me to continue to Alberta. After I moved my Jeep to the air hose, Mr. Lepine informed me, "We are going to repair your tire." I did not expect this since I knew his business was fully booked for the day.

Mr. Lepine and Kal Tire had gone out of their way by asking one of the persons in the office (apparently a former tire repairman) to make the repair. After paying the very reasonable fee, I was back on the road again without having to worry about the tire (it still holds full pressure after another 10,000 miles of travel).

I wish to commend Kal Tire and Eddie Lepine for their kindness, professionalism and plain decency shown this foreign traveller in a time of need.
