A 22-year-old Kimmirut man is facing two counts of attempted murder and one count of assault following a shooting incident on July 15.

At approximately 10:30 p.m.,  responded to a report of a person shooting a firearm from a residence. Upon arrival at the scene, the suspect allegedly began shooting at officers, striking a police vehicle. The suspect then fled on an all-terrain vehicle and was later apprehended after being restrained by local residents. By 11 p.m., the suspect was arrested and put in jail.

Nathan Padluq, the accused, is scheduled for a remand hearing on July 17.
