The results are starting to come in from around the territory as municipal elections happened in five communities and there's already one new face that will be in a mayor's chair.

Les Wright has become the new mayor-elect in Fort Simpson after defeating incumbent Sean Whelly. Wright received 239 votes to Whelly's 142, according to Ria Letcher, returning officer for the village's election.

When it comes to council, 19 candidates were vying for the six seats up for grabs and here are the provisional results. Those in bold have been elected:
