An incident at Stanton Territorial Hospital Saturday afternoon has seen one person apprehended by Yellowknife .
It all took place at the hospital at around 3 p.m., according to a Saturday evening release from the NWT Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA). The release didn't indicate where in the hospital the incident took place, but it did say that a person entered the hospital in what was described as a 'hostile state'.
Police were called to the scene and apprehended the individual, stated the release.
NTHSSA stated that there is no threat to the public at the hospital and that proper procedures were followed, which included staff and security getting involved.
NTHSSA spokesperson Krystal Pidborochynski told SA国际影视传媒 on Monday that the hospital went into what's known as 'code white' protocol for dealing with a "potentially violent situation."
"Entrances to the facility were secured for a period of time during and following the incident," she said.
Pidborochynski said would be handling the investigation into what happened; there was still no comment or word from police as of 10 a.m. Monday morning. We will update this story when more information becomes available.
