Hay River are looking for the public's help in trying to identify someone who called in and reported an injury in the early hours of Friday morning.

According to a release Friday afternoon, the person in question called in at around 1:25 a.m. and told police that he was travelling by snowmobile on a trail near Enterprise and suffered an injury. The caller, known only as "Jerry", thought he had broken a bone in his foot and needed help getting off the trail and to have the apparent injury looked at.

The call disconnected before any more information about "Jerry" could be taken and police haven't been able to reconnect with him since.

stated that a search of the Enterprise area was done, but there was no sign of a sled nor was there any sign of the caller. Police are asking if anyone knows about a "Jerry" who may be overdue or who may be travelling to give them a call. The release stated that police are still trying to get in touch with this person.

If you think you know who Hay River is looking for, you can call them at 867-874-1111 or if it's an emergency, call 911.
