It's decision day in five communities around the NWT today.

Voters have gone to the ballot box in Hay River, Fort Smith, Fort Simpson, Norman Wells and Inuvik to pick who they want to have as mayor and who they want to serve on town council or, in the case of Fort Simpson, village council.

In Fort Simpson, Sean Whelly is looking for another term as mayor as he faces off against Les Wright. In Norman Wells, incumbent Frank Pope is up against Paulie Chinna, while Clarence Wood and Peter Clarkson are the two candidates for mayor in Inuvik. Incumbent Fred Daniels is up against Dana Fergusson to see who becomes to next mayor of Fort Smith and there won't be a race for the mayor's chair in Hay River as the incumbent, Kandis Jameson, was acclaimed as soon as the deadline to file nomination papers passed there.

The polls close at 8 p.m. and SA国际影视传媒 will have the results in all five communities as soon as they become available. Stay tuned.
