Security exercises to be held at Iqaluit Airport

Daily operations will not be interrupted, says GN

Security exercises are scheduled to take place at the Iqaluit Airport on Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Airport services director Pierre Payette explained that these exercises are routine and done at the request of Transportation Canada.

Payette crafts each exercise scenario himself SA国际影视传媒 this time using an international flight scenario SA国际影视传媒 and that a response is tailored to an individual airport.

The agencies involved in the exercises are the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Canada Border Services Agency, Iqaluit Fire Department and Emergency Management Services.

These exercises are regularly scheduled at various locations across the North and residents should not be alarmed by the increased security presence, according to the Government of Nunavut.

Iqaluit Airport operations will continue as usual.
