Another restaurant chain is coming to Yellowknife in the coming weeks.
A banner outside the Quality Inn on 49 Street shows Ricky's All Day Grill is advertising that it's opening soon in Centre Square Mall.
The franchise owner and operator is Satwant Kaur Dhillon, and she told SA国际影视传媒 that she's excited to become a member of the community.
Dhillon said she's been working at the brand's location in Whitehorse for the past four years as general manager and got the opportunity to open up the new restaurant in the capital.
"I got the chance to do something on my own and as a young woman entrepreneur, I am very excited to be a part of (the) Yellowknife community and serve them fresh breakfast, lunch, dinner and bunch on weekends," she said.
According to the available history about the company, Ricky's has been around since 1962 with the first location opening in Vancouver called Ricky's Pancake House. The company says it has more than 85 locations around Western Canada, from Manitoba to B.C., including one in Whitehorse.
