Three people are facing multiple charges after police seized narcotics and cash at a home on the K'atl'odeeche First Nation earlier this month.
According to a release on Thursday, Hay River was called to the residence in question after being told that people were unlawfully inside. Officers who arrived found three people inside along with suspected crack-cocaine, fentanyl, cash and other evidence of drug trafficking in plain sight.
In all, a total of 43 grams of fentanyl, 41 grams of crack-cocaine and more than $5,000 in cash was seized by police. As a result, Rono Kim, 36, of Ontario, Wallace Burke, 58, of Hay River and Faith Martel, 24, of K'atl'odeeche First Nation were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The three accused appeared before a Justice of the Peace and were remanded into custody until a court appearance. Police also thanked those on KFN for their help in combating illegal drugs.
