A 19-year-old Alberta man is facing numerous charges after a search warrant was executed at a residence in Northlands Trailer Park early Thursday morning.
According to Yellowknife , the General Investigation Section, along with the Emergency Response Team, entered the home and, in the course of their search, uncovered approximately $12,000 in cash, around 100 grams of suspected crack cocaine, three loaded firearms and other drug trafficking paraphernalia. Three people were initially arrested as a result, but two of those individuals have since been released.
The third suspect, Jackito Guiwan of Alberta, has since been charged with possession and of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a restricted firearm or prohibited weapon with ammunition, unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon or prohibited weapon and unsafe storage of firearms.
Guiwan has already made an appearance before a Justice of the Peace and has been remanded in custody until his next court date.
