Yellowknife student accused of making threat while armed with knife

Yellowknife were dispatched to Mildred Hall School on Tuesday after receiving a report of a threat made by a 13-year-old student allegedly in possession of a knife.

Around 11:30 a.m., officers and a police dog responded to the Franklin Avenue location.

"The 13-year-old uttered a threat with a knife that was putting staff and students in danger," state. "The school was immediately put into lockdown due to the nature of complaint."

The say the knife was seized without incident and the student was taken to Stanton Territorial Hospital to receive care.

No one was injured during this incident, according to .
