are saying that 911 services are being disrupted across the NWT and are advising anyone in need of policing services to use local numbers.
An announcement was made on Aug. 25.
" have been made aware of a communications disruption affecting 911 services, landlines and some cellular carriers across the Northwest Territories," said NT communications officer Cpl. Josh Seaward. "In the event that 911 or landlines are not working, people requiring urgent police assistance will have to attend their local detachment in person, where members will be available to assist them."
A post on the GNWT's social media feed says the disruption is expected to last up to eight hours. In the interim, the GNWT says to try one of the following numbers.
