A former Mayor of Inuvik is running against the incumbent and a former Inuvik town councillor is seeking a second term after a hiatus in a very well-stocked municipal election lineup.
Nominations closed at 3 p.m. Sept. 23 and when the dust settled, there were two candidates for Mayor and 16 candidates vying for eight council seats.
"We are pleased to announce the nominations for Inuvik Mayor and Council," said chief returning officer Cynthia Pihlaja. "Election day is October 21, 2024.

Former town of Inuvik Mayor Peter Clarkson is running against incumbent Clarence Wood. Of the 16 candidates for town council, six are incumbents SA国际影视传媒� Alana Mero, Jesse Harder, Tony Devlin, Kurt Wainman, Nathaniel (Ned) Day and Whitney Alexis. Former town councillor Steve Baryluk has put his name in for consideration. The remaining candidates are Richard Campbell, Melinda Gillis, Mario Lemieux, Kendall McDonald, Jennifer Parrott, Amier Suliman, Marty Verbonac, Arno Willkomm and Bryan Wood.
