The Norman Wells Food Bank is getting a $150,000 cash injection from the GNWT to help residents struggling with skyrocketing costs in the isolated Sahtu community.
An announcement was made Oct. 21.

This is the latest measure put in place to assist Norman Wells. It follows a $1.8-million announcement to offset costs of transporting goods into the community, nearly doubling the home heating subsidy to $1,455 per month and covering heating costs for income assistance recipients.
