Fiddle and Flow ready to go
Inuvik's third annual Fiddle and Flow festival is gearing up for Aug. 16 to 18 and prize money is already on the table for the best talent. To date, three contests have been declared with prizes up to of $1,200. A youth and adult talent show is being organized for Aug. 16, a jigging contest is set for Aug. 17 and the fiddle contest is planned for Aug. 18.
Veterinarians coming to Tuk
Furry and fuzzy residents of Tuktoyaktuk will want their humans to know that a veterinarian clinic is coming to town. Veterinarians Without Borders, to be exact. Starting at the World Oceans Day celebrations Aug. 10 and then hosting appointments Aug. 11 and 12, veterinarians will be on hand for vaccinations and check-ups.
Men's carving workshop this weekend
Inuvik Native Band is hosting a men's carving workshop Aug. 10 to 11. Taught by Waylon Snowshoe from Snowshoe Carvings, the free workshop is open to men 18 and over who are able to attend both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit to register.
Tuktoyaktuk hosts baseball tournament
Batters up on the Arctic coastline SA国际影视传媒� Tuktoyaktuk is hosting its first annual baseball tournament Aug. 16 to 18. Teams must be mixed, with a minimum three women on the field at all times, and all athletes must be at least 16 years old. Registration is $450 per team.
