Hand games and beading at Inuvik Youth Centre
The Inuvik Youth Centre is hosting a series activities this coming week involving culture and creativity. A night of hand games is planned for Oct. 24 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is open to anyone between age eight and 18. Then, a beading night is scheduled for Oct. 26 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with dinner provided. That evening is for youths ages 13 to 18.
Monthly healing circles resume
Inuvik Mental Health Awareness Working Group is resuming monthly healing circles every Thursday, starting Oct. 24 at Ingamo Hall. A light dinner will be served and the circle is open to everyone. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. and the sharing circle is from 6 p.m. to 8 pm.
Halloween glow skating this weekend
A spooky skate party is set at the Roy Sugloo Ipana Memorial Arena on Oct. 26, with an evening glow skating being planned. A family skate will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½” all children at the family skate age 16 or younger will need to be accompanied by an adult to be admitted. A teen skate will follow from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is open to youths 12 and up.
Covid and flu vaccines at MSC
A vaccination clinic will be held Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Midnight Sun Complex. The FluMist vaccine will also be available for children ages two to five. Babies must be at least six months old to get vaccinated. A health care card will be required to get your shot. If you are unable to make it to the clinic, you can book your own immunization by phoning public health at (867) 777-7246.
