1) What made you decide to run for a town council seat?
I decided to run for town council after being asked by several people, and believing that I will make a difference.
2) What experience do you bring to the table?
Being a long-time resident, I have been fortunate enough to get to know a broad spectrum of the community. I have also been past vice-president of the Inuvik Metis Council. Also, having worked as logistics coordinator I have an insight on the inner-workings of town operations. I was a volunteer at the Roads End golf course and helped develop it into a playable course.
3) What do you see as the big issues facing Inuvik this election?
I feel that the infrastructure in town is lacking in certain areas and should be addressed. Also, the obvious drug, alcohol and homelessness issues in town.
4) How do you propose that these issues be resolved?
It will take all levels of government to address this. I feel if we all work together, we will make changes. I think bringing back Inuvik Works would help address some of these issues.
5) What is your favourite thing about Inuvik?
My favourite thing about Inuvik is, of course, the people.
The advance vote for the municipal election is Oct. 11 and election day is Oct. 21.
