Access to Tsiigehtchic and the Beaufort Delta by way of the Dempster Highway is temporarily down as the ferry has been stopped for maintenance.
An announcement was released by the GNWT at 9:40 p.m. July 4.
"We are waiting for techs to arrive from Edmonton," said Jason MacNeil. "Once on site they will complete an assessment and we will be better positioned to provide estimated repair timelines."
On it's social media feed, the department of Infratructure says there will be an update on July 6.
The rest of the Dempster Highway is still open.
Tsiigehtchic's only connection to roadways in the summer is the Mackenzie River Ferry.
