John Collin, who succeeded Sheila Bassi-Kellett in the role as of April 9, has informed the municipality that he will be stepping down for personal reasons, the city revealed on Tuesday morning.

His last day on the job will be May 13.

SA国际影视传媒淭his is unexpected but council would like to extend our best wishes to John,SA国际影视传媒� Mayor Rebecca Alty said. SA国际影视传媒淐ouncil is determining next steps to fill the city manager position given this unexpected news. We will update when further information is confirmed, and will appoint an interim city manager by May 13.SA国际影视传媒�

Collin, who served as the city manager in Saint John, N.B., for four years prior to arriving in Yellowknife, was touted as bringing 40 years of leadership and management experience to the city. He began his career in the Canadian Armed Forces, where he ultimately attained the rank of major-general a few years before retirement.

After his military service, Collin joined Bruce Power, overseeing all aspects of emergency preparedness and response during a period of increased security concerns following the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
