This passionate intuitive started when Whitford and her grandma went to City Hall for lunch, it was there that they got a peek at the water and saw a collection of disgusting debris.

SA国际影视传媒淲e saw plastic,SA国际影视传媒 said Whitford. SA国际影视传媒淪igns, chairs, even a dress, and a bunch of toys. ISA国际影视传媒檓 like, SA国际影视传媒淲e got to stop this.SA国际影视传媒

To help reach her goal of a cleaner world, Whitford started a petition, beginning with friends and family before expanding out into her neighbourhood.

She knew that wasnSA国际影视传媒檛 enough though, and went even further to get the message out.

SA国际影视传媒淪o I had a meeting with the mayor,SA国际影视传媒 said Whitford. SA国际影视传媒淲eSA国际影视传媒檙e starting it on August 12 at 4:30 p.m.SA国际影视传媒

Yellowknife Mayor Rebecca Alty was excited for what Whitford, and youth in general, had to offer.

SA国际影视传媒淚 find the youth are so passionate about the environment,SA国际影视传媒 said Alty SA国际影视传媒淪o, when she [Whitford] came forward and expressed her concerns and talked about action, I wanted to be able to support her to show her that when you have an issue and you want to see it through, itSA国际影视传媒檚 possible.SA国际影视传媒

At the time of writing, Whitford has 13 signatures on her petition, but according to the Facebook event listening for the clean-up, a total of 31 people are interested.

On top of a cleaner world, Whitford also wants to protect the turtles.

SA国际影视传媒淵ou know how turtles have been finding plastic,SA国际影视传媒 said Whitford. SA国际影视传媒淏ut theySA国际影视传媒檙e thinking itSA国际影视传媒檚 food. When they try to eat it, theySA国际影视传媒檙e like choking. A bunch of them are getting lost in the world.SA国际影视传媒

Whitford canSA国际影视传媒檛 wait to get started with the clean-up and already has ideas for where to go after sheSA国际影视传媒檚 finished with Frame Lake.

SA国际影视传媒淚 think we would go to Yellowknife River,SA国际影视传媒 said Whitford. SA国际影视传媒淚tSA国际影视传媒檚 a long river, with a bunch of things. ThereSA国际影视传媒檚 a bunch of metal on the floor, but ISA国际影视传媒檝e seen more things in that river.SA国际影视传媒
