A 41-year-old man in Behchoko has been arrested and charged after received a report on July 14 that two people had escaped from a residence in the community where they had allegedly been held against their will by an armed man.
The police were informed that a third person was still inside the residence, also being held.
The SA国际影视传媒淕SA国际影视传媒 Division Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services and crisis negotiators assisted officers from Behchoko detachment in a negotiations process with the suspect, who eventually exited the residence and was taken into custody. No injuries were reported.
David Wedzin has been charged with pointing a firearm, uttering threats, obstructing a peace officer and resisting a peace officer.
He's being kept in jail after appearing before a justice of the peace. He's scheduled to appear in justice of the peace court again on Tuesday.
