COVID-19 carrier may have attended high school party: source

The person who tested positive for Covid-19 on April 22 might have attended a party with students from at least one school in Yellowknife. 

The party took place on April 17 and students from St. Patrick and Sir John Franklin high schools might have attended, a reliable source who asked to remain anonymous told SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½.

In a statement released on April 23 through the legislative assembly, Tu Nedhé-Wiilideh MLA Steve Norn, who said he tested positive for COVID-19 on April 21, also stated that a member of his family tested positive on April 22. 

Yellowknife Catholic Schools that the case was identified at École St. Patrick High School, and that the school would remain open. It is not yet known if was a student or a staff member who was infected. 

A principal from one of those schools was contacted but couldn't comment officially on the party. The COVID-19 Secretariat has also not yet responded to requests for comment. 

But it is believed they are collecting as many names as possible as to who attended the party.
