Police officers in Fort Providence have arrested four males, including two 16-year-olds, after conducting an investigation into alleged drug trafficking.
The went to a local cabin, known to be vacant, after receiving a report of suspicious activity.
The Mounties arrested four individuals for being unlawfully in a dwelling house.
"Evidence of drug trafficking was located during the arrests, including over $4,700 in cash," the stated in a news release issued Aug. 19. "A search warrant was obtained for the cabin and executed, which further led to the seizure of four firearms, ammunition, further evidence of drug trafficking and a small amount of suspected crack-cocaine."
All four accused are from Alberta.
Aken Aken, 21, and Wyatt Herda-Savard, 20, have been charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling house and possession of proceeds of crime.
Aken is facing an additional charge of obstructing a peace officer.
Two 16-year-old males have also been charged, but they cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
After appearing before a justice of the peace, Aken was released to attend court on Sept. 26.
The remaining accuseds were released on conditions. They are scheduled to appear in court Dec. 5.
