Fuel truck fire extinguished at gas station near Yellowknife airport

A fuel truck caught fire at the DetSA国际影视传媒檕n Cho Shell fuel station on Bristol Avenue Friday morning around 9 a.m.

Racing to respond to the emergency, the Yellowknife Fire Division (YKFD) and a bylaw officer were met with smoke and flames visible on and around the vehicle.

SA国际影视传媒淭he YKFD used a hose line to contain the fire to the fuel truck. With the assistance from the Airport Fire Department, who arrived on scene, the fire was quickly extinguished. There were no injuries reported and the fire was confined to the truck and the loading island,SA国际影视传媒 said Abby Schelew, the citySA国际影视传媒檚 communication advisor.

As of press time, the cause of the fire was still unknown and the investigation is ongoing.

SA国际影视传媒淲e heard an explosion, and it was pretty apparent that there was a large fire,SA国际影视传媒 said Evan Eastard, a salesperson at nearby Aurora Ford. SA国际影视传媒淪o everybody was quickly evacuated off the property.SA国际影视传媒

The have been notified by the city in case of criminal involvement in the incident.
