The GNWT and the Northwest Territories TeachersSA国际影视传媒 Association (NWTTA) have ratified a new collective agreement.
According to a joint news release from both sides on Wednesday afternoon, the new agreement is a three-year deal that begins retroactively to Aug. 1, 2023 and will last until July 31, 2026. It also includes a retroactive salary increase of five per cent, and an additional three per cent increase come the start of August this year and a four per cent salary hike in August 2025.

Negotiations for a new collective agreement began in April 2023 and ended last month when both sides reached a tentative agreement.
The agreement also removed Covid-19 leave as an option; the previous agreement had that provision in there as an option.
