The city sent out an advisory Wednesday afternoon urging residents to exercise caution when venturing on the ice of the lakes surrounding the city after a large hole was spotted on Yellowknife Bay. The release stated the city received information that a large hole has been spotted between Joliffe Island and Old Town.
