Aircraft from Yellowknife, Fort Smith and Hay River have been dispatched to fight wildfires close to numerous cabins in the Little Buffalo area, approximately 24 km south of Fort Resolution.
The community's senior administrative officer recommended the evacuation of the Little Buffalo River on Monday evening due to the high risk.
The larger of the two wildfires measured 13 hectares as of Monday evening.
Two fire crews are on the ground to tackle the blazes, according to NWT Fire.
Hot and dry conditions, expected to continue throughout this week, are exacerbating the situation.
