Yellowknife have charged a 47-year-old man after a woman was allegedly kept in a tent against her will for several days. 

Police received word on June 26 that a woman had just escaped from the tent, where she was also allegedly assaulted by a man with a weapon.

A suspect was taken into custody at the tent site by Yellowknife and members of the SA国际影视传媒淕SA国际影视传媒� Division Emergency Response Team.

In addition to forcible confinement, the accused has also been charged with sexual assault with a weapon, obstructing justice and overcoming resistance to the commission of an indictable offence.

He appeared before a justice of the peace and is being held in custody until he appears in court on June 28 in Yellowknife.

The did not identify the accused in a June 27 news release.
