Cambridge Bay Mayor Angulalik Pedersen officially resigned from his position as of Monday afternoon.
The communitySA国际影视传媒檚 chief administrative officer Jim MacEachern confirmed PedersenSA国际影视传媒檚 resignation in an email to Nunavut News, but no reason was provided.
Derek Elias, who is Cambridge BaySA国际影视传媒檚 deputy mayor, is now acting mayor, a role heSA国际影视传媒檚 filled in the past.
SA国际影视传媒淚 have no further comment on the issue,SA国际影视传媒� Elias stated.
Pedersen was appointed mayor of Cambridge Bay on Nov. 4, 2021 SA国际影视传媒� he was deputy mayor at the time SA国际影视传媒� after previous mayor Pamela Gross was elected as Cambridge BaySA国际影视传媒檚 MLA.
The following month, the Hamlet of Cambridge Bay rejected a community petition calling for a mayoral election.
