A localized issue with a piece of gear impacted a "small portion" of users, Matthew Bossons in Northwestel communications said by email late on the afternoon of April 1.

Northwestel has fixed a network issue that disrupted internet services for some users on the morning of April 1, according to an email update at shortly after 9:30 a.m. from Bossons.
He said impacted customers are expected to be back online.

The major internet service provider for the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut encountered a problem affecting connectivity for some of its users on the morning of April 1.
Northwestel is currently investigating the problem and is still in the fact-finding phase, according to Catherine Newsome who works in communications for the telecommunications company servicing the North.
Northwestel is aware of disruptions affecting some customers across all three territories.
People in the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut may be experiencing internet issues this morning.
