Police have seized a 9-millimetre handgun and 740 grams of crack cocaine in a Behchok谦虁 traffic stop.

say they were on patrol on Highway 3 at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Jan. 23 when they conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, police SA国际影视传媒渇ormed grounds to arrest the driver for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.SA国际影视传媒�

When told he was under arrest, the driver refused to exit the vehicle and instead rolled their window up. After repeated requests, police say they forced entry through the window and took the driver into custody. Searching the vehicle, police allege that they found a 9-mm handgun, a prohibited high-capacity magazine, the 740 grams of crack cocaine and other drug related paraphernalia.

Both the driver and his female passenger are facing charges.

Thirty-eight-year-old Andrew Norn of Fort Resolution is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm and possession of a prohibited device.

Twenty-eight-year-old Marilyn Beaulieu of Hay River is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm and possession of a prohibited device.

Both remain in custody and are expected to make an appearance in court on Jan. 25.
