Typical power bills will be climbing close to $20 per month in Nunavut if Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) is granted approval for an additional charge due to rising fuel prices.
An extra 3.7 cents per kilowatt hour per would go into effect from April 1 to Sept. 30, should the territorySA国际影视传媒檚 Utility Rates Review Council find the application justifiable.
SA国际影视传媒淭he requested fuel rider is related to the increase in territorial fuel prices announced in January,SA国际影视传媒 stated John Main, minister responsible for QEC, in an April 3 news release.
Customers who use approximately 500 kilowatt hours per month can expect an increase of approximately $19.41 (including GST) on their monthly bill, if the fuel rider is adopted.
SA国际影视传媒淨EC customers can expect the charge to be automatically applied to their monthly bills, starting with the April utility bill, with the exception of public housing tenants who are subsidized under Nunavut Housing CorporationSA国际影视传媒檚 program,SA国际影视传媒 said James Arreak, acting president and CEO of QEC.
