A man suspected in a string of armed robberies in Yellowknife in recent days is now in police custody.

A man armed with a knife was allegedly responsible for the following incidents, according to the :

On Feb. 6, the police received a complaint from the downtown liquor store reporting that a man had threatened staff with a knife while stealing alcohol from the store. were told that when a staff member tried to stop the man from leaving with unpaid for bottles of alcohol, he allegedly pulled out a knife and made threatening motions towards the employee.

On Feb. 13 at 3:07 a.m., the police responded to a call of an armed robbery at the Circle K on Franklin Avenue. were told that a lone male had come behind the counter and allegedly threatened the staff member with a large knife before making off with cash from the register. The staff member was physically assaulted during the incident but was not injured.

On Feb. 14, at 2:51 a.m. the responded to a business on 52 Avenue after receiving a report of another break and enter. Officers learned that a lone male suspect had entered the store and allegedly threatened the employee with a knife while demanding cash. The employee suffered injuries that required treatment at the hospital.
