A complaint of a Yellowknife break and enter led police to recover three stolen passports belonging to guests of the Northwest Territories.

say they responded to a call at 4:33 a.m., March 7. The suspect had left the scene before police had arrived the business on Franklin avenue.

However, the suspect left enough evidence in his wake for police to conduct an investigation leading to his arrest. While they were investigating the initial incident, they found grounds linking the suspect to the theft of three passports to from a business on 49th street from a March 3 break an enter. Police were able to recover the stolen passports and other items and return them to the their lawful owners. The passports belonged to foreigners who were visiting the Northwest Territories.

There are four pending charges against the 36-year-old male who has not been named:

Break and enter

Mischief causing damage

Possession of Stolen Property
