A nine-month-old infant is in stable condition after being sent by medevac to a Winnipeg hospital with a bullet wound, according to the .

The infant was struck by gunfire in an adjacent room of a residence on Tuesday, the stated in a news release.

There was no mention of charged filed in the police news release. However, Rankin Inlet and the Winnipeg Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate this serious matter.
