Rankin Inlet Mayor Robert Janes succumbed to cancer on May 15 after a lengthy battle with the disease.

The Hamlet of Rankin Inlet issued a news release today extending condolences to JanesSA国际影视传媒� family.

Janes served six years and mayor and was a hamlet councillor for many years prior to that.

SA国际影视传媒淗e served his community with great dedication during this time and had always worked towards the best interest of the residents of Rankin,SA国际影视传媒� the hamletSA国际影视传媒檚 news release reads.

Deputy mayor Harry Towtongie will take over duties as mayor.
