Iqaluit - After collecting 515 old telephone directories, students from Inuksuk High School in Iqaluit received $300 from Northwestel for their efforts.
"Every year, the effort demonstrated by students in each of these participating schools is wonderful to see,SA国际影视传媒� said Northwestel general manager for Nunavut Bertrand Poisson.
"By diverting these directories from the landfill, these students are showing their commitment to building a greener tomorrow and Northwestel is proud to celebrate and reward their success."
The students plan to use the funds towards activities for the schoolSA国际影视传媒檚 SA国际影视传媒榞reen clubSA国际影视传媒� environmental program.
This is the sixth year that schools from Nunavut have participated in the program, according to the news release. Ecole des Trois-Soleils in Iqaluit also participated and brought the total of recycled directories in the territory to 734.
