The Iqaluit Fire responded to two fires, deemed to be suspicious in nature, in Iqaluit overnight on Wednesday into Thursday.
Both fires incidents were in the Federal Road area. The fires locations were close to each other.
The first fire was reported at approximately 11 p.m. followed by the second fire at approximately 5 a.m.
The fire department, office of the fire marshal and all responded. Both fires were extinguished and no injuries were reported.
Miscellaneous materials were found to be burned in the first fire. The second was an unoccupied structure, stated a City of Iqaluit news release issued Thursday afternoon.
People are asked to remain vigilant and notify any suspicious activity to the .
